This project was inspired by the I Spy computer games I played as a kid. Walter Wick, the photographic illustrator of Scholastic's "I Spy" books, takes photographs of 3D models and transforms them into print.

The Tunguska event was a large explosion that occurred in Siberia on June 30, 1908. It flattened roughly 80 million trees and though it is believed to have been caused by a meteor, it left no impact crater.

This was my first time using Procreate to animate, learning the tool as I went along, using just a few colors and traditional paint brushes instead of perfectly crisp lines to create a naïve, innocent feeling. I wanted to convey moments when life is unexpectedly outside of one’s control, and while dangerous, there is somehow profound peace.
